Physiological effects:

*A man’s high testosterone levels are exactly what predispose men to hair thinning and balding. The strong influence of male sex hormones on hair follicles is mediated by DHT, or dihydrotestosterone. In the balding process, testosterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. The causes of hair loss are multifaceted, and often there is an underlying scalp inflammation that causes hair loss by increasing the effect of DHT. Hair thinning and balding are also strongly linked to hereditary factors.
